College of Healthcare Management and Economics at Gulf Medical University (GMU) is new college specializing in healthcare management and economics opened in Ajman. It was established due to fast growth of healthcare industry in the Gulf region and around the world.

As per 2018 GCC Healthcare Industry Report by Alpen Capital, current expenditure on health in the GCC is projected to reach $ 104.6 billion by 2022. The region may also require a total capacity of beds of 118,295 by 2022, indicating a demand for 12,358 new beds.

This growth will require significant number of professionals in health management, economics, technology assessment, computer science, medical insurance and medical tourism.

Offering many Bachelors and Masters degrees tailored specifically to the healthcare industry needs, the college is the first of its kind in the Middle East.

Programs are offered in collaboration with international universities such as University of Milan, University of Arizona, American University of Cairo, University of Central Florida and others.

The college also has strong links with industry partners in the UAE and GCC, as well as in India, the USA and Africa.
